Are you looking for a different kind of outreach event for your church?
Why not hold a Holy Socks event?
Most people are familiar with the idea of life as a journey but are they familiar
with the idea of life as pilgrimage? What I call "journeying differently."
We will send a script so that you can tell the story of the journey of Holy Socks.
The presentation includes some of the stories which accompany the various designs
of Holy Socks.
It takes a bit of work. The script will need to be edited to fit in with the
stories you want to read and also the time you have available. The presentation is
an enjoyable event, highlighting our life's journey and the Christian life as pilgrimage
and showing Holy Socks are "more than a sock®,"
We send you a box of Holy Socks, various designs and colours, usually about 60-70 pairs,
but we can send more of less. (We'll also send orders if you run out of anything.)
Yes, you'll raise some money for your church or organisation but that's not really the
main point of a Holy Socks event.
The main points to remember are these:
1. Holy Socks make people laugh, or at least smile, WITHOUT condemning anyone,
and without making fun of anyone - because people are laughing, you've got their interest.
2. Most people are familiar with the idea of life as a journey, but Holy Socks help to explain
the difference between life as a journey and life as pilgrimage.
3. It should be an enjoyable event which makes people laugh but also gives them
something to think about, without scaring them off or pressuring them into a
commitment they do not yet feel.
Adult sizes, 4-7 & 6-11 sell at £5.75
Children's sizes £4.75
The church keeps £1.25 per pair.
Generally speaking the large size sells best, followed by ladies, babies and children's.
The socks are made in the UK, least cotton content 70% so they are good socks.
