Rallying with Holy Socks 2009 - 2010

Holy Socks will be continuing their support of the Earsman Ltd rally crew of
Jock Armstrong and Kirsty Riddick as they contest the Hankook MSA Scottish Rally
Championship of 2010.

The pair finished fifth overall and third in Group N after a turbulent 2009 Championship.
Consistent top three finishers, the team looked set to take both the Group N title and the overall
championship, when they were excluded from the Gleaner Speyside Rally for a minor
technical infringement. It was a harsh judgement on the pair - no unfair advantage was
gained and there was never any intent to do so. The subsequent loss of points ended
their hopes of winning the title, but the pair bounced back in fine style on the
Merrick Forest Stages in Newton Stewart, the home of Holy Socks, winning the rally
by a remarkable 40 seconds. The team ended the Championship with a second place on the McRae Forest Stages.

Their overall third place in the Championship won them an entry on the final round
of the Intercontinental Rally Championship, held over three days in the forests in Perth.
A fourth place finish against international opposition was a fine finish to the year.
Ah well, the year wasn't quite finished - there was still the Armstrong Group sponsored
Galloway Hills Rally. Jock and Kirsty won that in fine style - nice to win the rally
you sponsor!

Now we all look forward to the first rally of 2010 - what will likely be an
aptly named Snowman Rally, based in Inverness, on February 20th.

I'll be giving the whole Earsman/Holy Socks Rally Team a different design of Holy Socks
every rally. Given the temperature this year, they'll be getting our woolly
camels, Journeying Sock to keep their feet warm.

They've had the normal weight of this design in cotton before
but the quotation is a good one to start the year - "Go in peace the journey on
which you go in under the eye of the Lord." Judges 18, 6. I'll have to write something
new for them.
We'll also have "Rallying with Holy Socks" hats available soon - news of those in the next
couple of weeks.
